1) Wallet for him
2) belt for him
3) watch for me
and last but NOT LEAST... shoes for him.
Now we all know about the drama with his shoes previously from this post. In short, we went, we bought, we tried it back at home, we realised one was bigger than the other, we returned it.
So today, bright and early we went to Westfield. They have everything under one roof, so it seemed like the best option. We already knew which wallet, belt and watch to get, so we set upon finding the shoes first. We went into shop G: he liked one, tried it and said it was too pointy and too long. Fine, we moved on to shop P. There we found something he liked, but there was none in his size, so the sales assistant told us to go the Knightsbridge branch because they had a pair there in his size. Ok, no problem. It was still early, we can still make it to Knightsbridge before closing time.
Now that we have decided on the shoes, we went to shop L to get his wallet and belt. Turns out, they don't have the wallet he wanted, out of stock. The belt they had, but it had scratches on it and fiance was not happy. The sales girl said they had the wallet and belt in stock at the Knightsbridge and Bond Street branches. Good news then since we were going to Knightsbridge anyways.
Before leaving for Knightsbridge, we went to get my watch, which was in stock, yay! By this time, fiance was getting a but grumpy as we haven't found any of his stuff but have already crossed mine off the list... oops. Not my fault.
On the way to Knightsbridge, he started thinking about the shoes he first tried in Shop G. He said it wasn't that pointy and long, and the design is actually nicer compared to the one in Shop P. I can feel my blood pressure rising, bole change his mind pulak? sabar sabar...
Once we got to Knightsbridge, we went to Shop G to try the shoes again. They didn't have them in size 8, but had them in size 7.5. He tried them on, said it was a bit tight. The sales assistant checked and said they are a pair of Size 8's at the Bond Street branch. It was only 3 stops away on the tube, so fine, we decided to go there after going to shop L which was across the street.
We went to Shop L next to get the wallet and belt. Turns out, they've run out of stock too! waaa stress i tell u! But they said the Bond Street branch does have them in stock. So it's decided then, we have to go to Bond Street to get the wallet, belt and shoes. We didn't even go to shop P which was the whole point of us going to Knightsbridge in the first place...
We got to Old Bond Street and went to shop G. He tried the size 8's, and said they were too loose. By this time, I was tired, hungry and needed to pee desperately. My patience was nearing its limit. I took a deep breath, and asked the sales assistant for a size 7.5. She said she didn't have any, only size 7's available. He tried them on, and said they were too tight. The sales assistant checked on the system and said the Westfield branch had a pair in size 7.5.
Quick reminder - Westfield was the first store we went to in the morning. He tried on the size 8's there and said they were too pointy and long.
So, after ALL that running around, it turns out we had to go back to the first store we went to, to get the shoes. You can't make this up, it only happens to my fiance. By this time, my back pain was kicking in, so I said no way are we going all the way back to Westfield. We'll go there tomorrow instead. Let's just get the wallet and belt at shop L down the street, and then I can go home to rest my worn feet. Fiance was smart enough to not argue with me on this.
We got to shop L and asked for the wallet and belt. The belt they had, the wallet not so much. BUT, they had the wallet at Selfridges, which is about a 15 min walk from Old Bond Street. So we got the belt at Old Bond Street, walked to Selfridges, and got the wallet. Finally, after going to 4 branches in 1 day.
SUCCESS.
Apart from the shoes that is, but I have made my peace with that. It is my Everest, this whole shoe drama. I pray that it will end tomorrow.
To be continued..
