Mad wheels

I think it's common knowledge among those who know me that I don't drive. I've somehow managed to survive the last 11 years since I got my license by getting rides from people, public transportation and taxis. Back in the UK and Ireland, there wasn't really a need for driving, as the public transport system was excellent. But ever since I had Yasmin, I knew that I had to start driving, for fear of an emergency in the middle of the night and there was no one home to drive us to the hospital. Also, since I am going to start working again, I HAVE to learn to drive. I can't rely on people to drop me off at work, they have other things to do!

So I started driving around my neighbourhood, going to malls close to home and slowly venturing out further and further away from home. Happy to report, I am now comfortable driving on the road at a speed limit of 40-60 km/h. With a huge red P sign at the back of my car.

But my weakness is parking. I just can't park! It involves a lot of going in and out and turning the steering wheel round and round. So I've been spending an hour a day at a local mall, practicing my parking. It gets a bit embarrassing when I notice people looking at me, but I don't know them so just I buat muka tebal and get on with it. After a week of doing this, I'm getting so much better at parking! I guess it's true, practice makes perfect :)

And then this happened.

Ah well, all part of the learning process eh? The important thing is to learn from my mistakes (please brake at the bump) and not to quit!

I know people will probably be thinking, Omg super jakun, driving pun nak kecoh. But this is a seriously huge accomplishment for me. Super proud of myself. *pats self at the back*

Maybe I should get something to reward myself? :)
